Police are in search of two unknown suspects who were allegedly involved in a business robbery in Fourways.
The two armed men allegedly entered the shop and pretended that they were customers on January 26.
“Suddenly the suspects threatened the staff members with firearms and instructed them to open the tills. The suspects then took an undisclosed amount of money and some bathroom mats before they fled the scene,” said Douglasdale Police Station spokesperson Captain Mpho Tshetlhane.
She said no one has been arrested yet. “Police investigations are continuing.”
Police also advised business people to consider the following safety tips:
- Invest in realistic security measures such as a reliable alarm system with panic buttons and CCTV.
- Avoid keeping large sums of cash on the premises.
- Bank large sums of money immediately
- Make use of drop safe systems and security companies where possible.
- Constantly change routes, especially when banking the money.
- Train employees to be observant and vigilant.
- Never cash up in front of clients or employees, use separate area or office.
