Crime awareness campaign held at Malibongwe Drive

DOUGLASDALE – Douglasdale police thanked the stakeholders who were involved in the crime awareness campaign.

Honeydew police, Douglasdale police, the community policing forum, gender-based violence brigades, neighbourhood watch and private security companies, together with JMPD held a joint cross border crime awareness campaign.

The campaign was held on February 23 on the corner of Malibongwe Drive and Witkoppen Road.

Douglasdale Police Station spokesperson Captain Mpho Tshetlhane said about 1 200 pamphlets were distributed to motorists and members of the community.
The purpose of the campaign was to raise awareness on hijackings, theft of motor vehicles, theft out of motor vehicle, gender-based violence and common robberies occurring in the precinct.
β€œThe police would like to thank all the role-players who made the event successful,” Tshetlhane said.
