Man fires gun in police station parking lot

An altercation in the parking lot sees a man fire his gun into the air and get arrested immediately afterwards.

A man has been arrested after firing his gun in the parking lot at Honeydew Police Station.

Station spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said the man had apparently turned up to the station on May 4, while under the influence.

He wanted to speak to the police about a separate case before an altercation ensued between him and police officers.

“He fired his firearm into the air and was arrested immediately afterwards,” Muthan said.

“There were no injuries. The suspect was arrested under the influence for discharging of a firearm, interference and intimidation. He will appear in court shortly.”
