“They will stop you and produce a police card and ask to search you and your car, once you give permission they will search you and take your belongings.”
This follows a case that was open at the Linden Police Station.
Sibiya added that the complainant alleged that she was walking along Surrey Avenue in Ferndale when a charcoal grey VW polo registration number unknown stopped next to her. “One male came out of the car and produced a card claiming to be police officers. Another unknown male searched the complainant and took her Hisense cellphone and wallet containing 300 US dollars, bank cards and passport.”
