Matriculant looks forward to the next chapter of her life

The King's Robin Hills matric class of 2022 student Gabriella Karnstedt look back at the challenging year and looks forward to the next big step of her life.

The King’s Robin Hills matriculant Gabriella Karnstedt writes:

I am extremely happy with my results, a lot of hard work went into them, it paid off and I am happy about that.
I did not quite expect the marks that I got, I expected lower. I was happy that everything worked out for me. I am excited to start the next chapter of my life; for now, I am officially done, and it’s a great feeling.

I look forward to studying this year and will study in Pretoria doing foundation phase teaching. I’m looking forward to experiencing new things and diversity because I’ve been at this school for most of my life since primary school. It’s going to be exciting to start a new chapter and I am also looking forward to experiencing student life and freedom.

Matric was challenging, especially because some subjects were not my strongest. I had to apply time management and strategies and had to prioritise academics in a lot of things. I had to sacrifice a lot of social events to put academics first. Matric was a bit challenging but I got through it with a lot of patience and perseverance and a lot of support from the teachers which was helpful.

My advice to this year’s matrics is to stick to deadlines and trust yourselves and your strengths because you are smarter than you think you are. If you have a lot of self-doubts, that is just going to add more stress than you need. The main thing is to persevere.
