Randburg Sun asked learners what their thoughts on bullying are and how they can prevent it and what they can do if they are being bullied.
This is what said….

To prevent bullying you can either talk to a person who is bullying another child or you can tell the principal or any elder and tell them someone is being bullied. If someone is being bullied you can stand up for that person and tell the bully it is wrong what you are doing and you won’t like it if we did it to you. Bullying is not a good thing to happen to anyone and I will not wish anyone to be bullied.

I say bullying is wrong because if its being done to you then you’ll never like it. I would report if i see someone being bullied and if the teachers are not around I would tell the bullies they are wrong.

I believe bullying is wrong because it can hurt the victim you are bullying and it can lead them into a very depressing and sad state because it not only affects them physically, it can also emotionally disturb them. Bullying does not only leave marks and scars on the skin it can hurt on the inside and that’s very bad. I believe we can prevent it by reporting to the teachers, parents, and guardians or anyone you know can help.

Bullying is bad because it can hurt the person and can cause low self-esteem and their confidence can be demolished. You can prevent bullying by talking to your peers and reporting to elders.

If I see someone being bullied my first reaction is to go and help them because if they are being bullied obviously, they need help with it and sometimes people just need someone to talk to about it. Second thing: talk to an adult you trust or a teacher if you are at school. Bullying is wrong, it is just making someone feel inferior to you and making them feel bad about themselves. I do not understand it and it is not ok.
