Ferndale Bowls Club is a step closer to promotion

Ferndale Bowls Club is back to winning ways after a defeat to Bryanston Sports Club.

Ferndale Bowls Club has reclaimed first place in the Johannesburg Bowls Association (JBA) Saturday League Men’s Trips Division Three log table after defeating Lanasia Bowling Club by a full point.

With their convincing victories of 26–8 and 38–10, Ferndale is getting closer to their objective of stepping up to the second division. This was a fantastic comeback after a setback against Bryanston Sports Club to keep Ferndale’s promotion hopes alive.

Warren Steyn of Ferndale praised the visitors for giving them a tough match.

“We played the team that has a very small membership and have no support from their council,” he said.
“It’s unbelievable and I am very honoured to have them here playing with us. A small club to compete the way they did, I am very proud of them and we enjoyed having them here.”
