Josh Anderson an U14 Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge cricketer made headlines over the weekend after smashing an unbeaten triple century in a 50-over match.

The Grade 8 learner scored 357 not out for his school’s A-side playing against St John’s College.

He finished his innings with 11 overs remaining. Trinityhouse recorded a whopping 591/9 off their 50 overs with St John’s only managing 187 runs. All praise was on Anderson after his outstanding triple century.

The U14 A-team captain also broke his record of 165 runs in 50 overs.

According to the SuperSport Schools website, Anderson faced only 162 balls in his innings, hitting 65 boundaries, including 23 sixes.

He represented the Gauteng Lions at U13 level in 2023 and he was also the team’s captain. He also represented South Africa in indoor cricket last year.

Speaking to the Jacaranda FM Breakfast show he said that getting that many runs made him happy and through cricket, he escaped the daily stress of schoolwork.
