Blairgowrie Music Concert stars set to compete internationally
Two gifted learners from Blairgowrie Music Concert, Rachel Mathi and Scarlett Garbers secured medals and places on the Talent Africa National Team.
Blairgowrie Music Concert (BMC) again showcased the impressive talents of its young performers.
Each year, the concert provides a lively platform for budding artists and musicians to explore their passions and perform for an appreciative audience. The learners dedicate hours of practice and preparation for two grand concerts, filled with drama, poetry, singing, and instrumental performances. With expert guidance from the concert’s skilled tutors, the learners bring out their best, making each concert unforgettable.

This year’s theme, Kaleidoscope, added extra colour to the performances, with the learners taking to the stage to display their creativity and skill in dazzling performances.
Rachel Mathi and Scarlett Garbers have shone especially brightly among these talented learners. Earlier this year, both were selected to represent Gauteng at the Federation Provincial Competition in the Vocalist category, a feat that earned them prestigious colours. Recently, they went on to compete in the National Talent Africa Competition, where their performances captivated the audience. Impressively, both girls medalled in every song they performed, securing their spots on the Talent Africa National Team in their respective age groups.

This outstanding achievement will take Scarlett and Rachel to the international stage next year, as they prepare to represent South Africa at the International Talent Africa Competition.
