Johannesburg Water dug up a portion of the pavement on Bram Fisher to repair an underground burst pipe, however, after completing the work, they did not fill in the excavation. This was 10 months ago and the gaping hole has been causing frustration for businesses and residents.

Theresa Sebastian, who works at a business on Bram Fischer Drive said the excavation is ‘a danger to public and transport commuters as it is next to a busy road’.
She added the hole was filled with water and trash and staff of the businesses couldn’t access the parking area.
