St Stithians’ Class of 2024 achieves academic excellence

With seven students earning Academic Honours Summa Cum Laude, St Stithians Girls’ College’s Class of 2024 delivered the best matric results in the school’s proud history.

St Stithians Girls’ College has once again proven its commitment to academic excellence with the Class of 2024 delivering the best matric results in the school’s history.

All 107 candidates achieved a pass, with every learner qualifying for bachelor’s degree studies. This milestone is a reflection of the school’s dedication to fostering holistic education while maintaining a strong focus on academic rigour.

The 2024 candidates collectively earned an impressive 387 distinctions, averaging 3.62 distinctions per candidate. More than half of the class, 54 learners, achieved four or more distinctions. Seven learners were honoured with the prestigious Academic Honours Summa Cum Laude, awarded to those who maintained an average of 90% or higher throughout the year.

In addition to these remarkable achievements, six learners placed among the top 5% nationally in various subjects. This included two learners receiving the coveted Outstanding Achievement accolade for being in the top 5% nationally across six or more subjects, with level 7 in life orientation.

The results highlight not only the learners’ commitment to their studies but also the unwavering support of teachers, parents, and the broader Saints community. The school has fostered an environment that prioritises individual learning needs, empowering learners to excel both in and out of the classroom.

St Stithians Girls’ College head of school Celeste Gilardi expressed her pride, saying: “This is an extraordinary achievement, one that speaks volumes about the calibre of our students and the dedication of our staff. Our girls continue to raise the bar, and we are excited to see the mark they will make in the world.”
