Falcons soar to victory at Rand Park Primary swimming gala

Rand Park Primary School was brimming with excitement and school spirit on January 24, as learners, teachers, and parents gathered for the highly anticipated interhouse swimming gala. With a sunny sky overhead, the event offered something for everyone, from competitive races to a fun-filled swim for non-team participants, ensuring every learner could contribute to their house’s performance.

The four houses: Eagles (Yellow), Falcons (Green), Hawks (Blue), and Ravens (Red), competed fiercely throughout the day, showcasing their athleticism, teamwork, and enthusiasm. While competitive swimmers vied for top honours in each race, the fun swim allowed other learners to cross the pool and earn a point for their house, demonstrating Rand Park Primary’s commitment to inclusivity and participation.

The results of the gala were as follows:

1st Place: Falcons
2nd Place: Eagles
3rd Place: Hawks
4th Place: Ravens

Despite finishing fourth in the overall rankings, the Ravens stole the show with their creativity and flair, taking home the award for best dressed. The Spirit Trophy was awarded to the Hawks for their unwavering enthusiasm and encouragement throughout the event.

Parents and teachers cheered on the learners, creating an electric atmosphere that emphasised camaraderie and school pride. The day concluded with smiles all around, as the learners celebrated their hard work, and shared memories of a fantastic day.

Rand Park Primary once again proved that their school spirit is unmatched, making the interhouse swimming gala a highlight of the year.
