Resident Andre Kruser reported the issue, and has been escalating it by leaving a trail of communication from when it was originally communicated back in 2023. Kruser held JRA accountable by constantly sending emails and pictures, asking for a detailed plan of action for this site, as well as date lines, which included an estimated date of successful completion, in his communications. “I go past this location frequently, when out exercising. Through his resilience, the entity has finally taken action, and the storm water inlets have been cleared and cleaned.
JRA head of regional operations Khaya Gqibitole confirmed that their team cleared the storm water inlets. After a thorough investigation, they discovered that the storm water pipe has tree roots in it, hence the restricted flow of water. “We will need to cut the tree roots out and remove the storm water pipes, since some have dislodged, and repair the entire storm water system. We have scheduled the repairs to the storm water infrastructure for the coming weeks, in order to remove the roots and repair the dislodged pipes.”

He added that they will provide feedback on the matter after the commencement of the repairs.
