Water supply disruption in Randburg and Roodepoort due to burst line
A burst main pipe has caused a water supply issue in Randburg and Roodepoort. JW asks residents to prepare for outages as repairs are carried out
Johannesburg Water (JW) has issued an urgent warning about a serious issue affecting water supplies in Randburg and Roodepoort. A burst in the main supplier line has caused water levels to drop sharply, forcing the shutdown of the Eikenhof pump station, a vital facility responsible for delivering water to thousands of households and businesses in the area.

In response, water authorities have taken immediate action to manage the situation. Some outlets have been temporarily closed to conserve the remaining supply, and efforts are underway to carry out urgent repairs. Regional teams have also arranged alternative sources of water to support the communities affected, but residents are advised to expect ongoing disruptions until the repairs are complete.

The reservoirs and towers most impacted in Randburg include Linden 1 and 2, Blairgowrie, Kensington B, Honeydew, Olivedale, Corriemoor, Fairlands, Cosmo City, Lanseria (direct supply), Boschkop, and Randpark Ridge, along with all their direct feeds. While Roodepoort’s systems are also affected, priority is being given to stabilising and restoring supplies in Randburg to minimise inconvenience.
JW sincerely apologises for the disruption and asks residents to use water sparingly where possible.
Further updates will be provided as work to resolve the issue progresses.
