The visitors stamped their authority early in the game, with forward Tiang Sebakeng stealing the show. Sebakeng netted an incredible four goals, proving too much for the Old Parks defence to handle. His teammate, Otlametsi Matshane, added to the tally, rounding off a dominant display from Fleurhof City.

Old Parks struggled to find their rhythm throughout the match, but managed to pull one back late in the game to avoid a clean sheet loss.

Despite the disappointing result, Old Parks’ coach Jean Irie remained calm in his post-match comments. “It’s never nice to start the season with a loss, especially at home, but it’s a long season and we’ll bounce back,” said Irie. “The boys are still finding their feet.”

The boys executed the game plan well.”
