Organised in partnership with the Randpark Ridge Village Association (RRVA), the market aimed to bring the community together, support local businesses, and promote charitable causes.

“Our main goal was to remind everyone of the amazing local stores we have here, and give vendors a chance to connect with customers,” said event organiser Kelly Dairopoulos.

The market showcased various stalls, including the RRVA table selling items like activated charcoal, bee houses, and multipurpose keys. A special July membership promo was also launched, offering new members a discounted rate of R250 for the first six months.

Next to the RRVA table was the Feral Cats table, where volunteers collected pet food donations for the SPCA, RPR Ferals, and Woodrock Animal Rescue. Anyone who supported these charities got a chance to pop a balloon and win a prize, with many prizes sponsored by shops and vendors.

Entertainment was lively throughout the day, with performances from a Scottish pipe band, dancers, and even a nunchuck display. Spar sponsored a hot cocoa truck, and Father Christmas made a surprise appearance. Attendees could also take photos with angel wings and enter a competition to win a giant Pikachu plush toy.

“It was truly a day of giving back and celebrating our amazing community,” said Dairopoulos.
