Woodside Sanctuary outlines key plans for a stronger 2026
After a year of strong community backing, Woodside Sanctuary sets out its goals for 2026, focusing on improved care, sustainability, facility upgrades, and long-term stability.
Woodside Sanctuary has welcomed the new year with gratitude and renewed determination, thanking supporters, partners, and friends for standing by the organisation throughout 2025.
In a heartfelt message, Loné Lourens, marketing and fundraising manager at Woodside Sanctuary, expressed her appreciation for the community’s generosity and commitment, which she says allowed the sanctuary to continue providing specialised care to its residents.

“Every day at Woodside, I am reminded of the extraordinary power of community. Your generosity allows us to keep fighting for dignity, compassion, and hope for our angels. As we welcome 2026, my heart is full of gratitude for every donor, partner, and friend who chooses to stand with us.
“Together, we are not just sustaining Woodside; we are shaping a future where love leads, care transforms, and every life is valued.”

Looking ahead, Woodside Sanctuary is focused on building on the progress made in 2025. Lourens shared that the organisation is particularly excited about completing phase two of its solar power project, which will ensure uninterrupted power for essential medical equipment, while reducing operational costs.
She also highlighted plans to strengthen care programmes, expand the 500 Club and monthly giving initiatives, enhance staff training and support, and upgrade facilities to improve safety, comfort, and accessibility for residents.

“Our goal in 2026 is to continue transforming lives, not just within our sanctuary, but in the broader community as well.
“We look forward to welcoming new volunteers, students, and partners, introducing innovative therapeutic tools, celebrating moments of joy and progress with our angels, and strengthening our role as a centre of excellence in the disability sector. The continued kindness and support of the community have always given Woodside its heart.”
Lourens also encouraged the public to get involved, saying there are many meaningful ways to support Woodside this year.
“Joining the 500 Club, volunteering your time, partnering corporately, donating goods or services, fundraising on our behalf, or simply sharing our story can make a tremendous difference. Every act of kindness, big or small, helps us continue giving each resident the care, comfort, and dignity they deserve.”
As 2026 begins, Woodside Sanctuary extends its deepest gratitude to the community.
“Your support has carried us through challenges, uplifted our spirits, and ensured our angels receive the holistic care they depend on.
May this New Year bring peace, joy, and renewed strength to all. Together, let us continue building a more compassionate, inclusive, and hopeful world.”
