MultiChoice ignites in memory of David Sejobe, beloved security guard
Community comes together to honour the life and legacy of David Sejobe, a security guard who meant more than his uniform.
People continue to share their condolences and praise for David Sejobe, the well-liked security guard at the MultiChoice offices on Bram Fischer Drive.
Sejobe, known for his high energy, was hit by a vehicle while cycling to work last Friday. His passing has brought grief and support from everyone who knew him.

On Tuesday afternoon, MultiChoice staff and Randburg residents paid their respect to Sejobe. They gathered outside the Multichoice building on Bram Fischer, singing and cheering for cars passing by. Hundreds of motorists also hooted as a tribute to the fallen hero.

His colleagues and some of the staff described Sejobe as a good person who was always in a good mood and willing to assist.
“Sejobe was a good man; he always made us smile. Whenever we came to the office to look for something, he was the person we would go to. We really lost a great man,” said Innoviator Nkomo.
Nokuthula Ndala, who worked at MultiChoice, said she doesn’t even remember opening the door when walking in, as David would always make sure he opened the door for her.

“He would leave everything and open it for you even when you were coming out, he would rush and open it. He called all sorts of names; he didn’t care what your title or profession is.
She added that he was a people person who knew everyone at the office. “He will be missed so much, but we will keep him and his words of encouragement in our hearts. We are sad about this loss, but we have gained an angel.

David made a mark in people’s lives just by being kind and respectful. He was loved by many, his colleagues, residents and motorists alike, who all drove past and hooted at him doing his popular dances and greetings.
Fhatuwani Mulaudzi, who worked closely with him, said he was a respected human who was full of life and love. “He would always compliment me every day to make me feel special. He was an amazing person. Thank you, David, may you rest in peace.”
