Randburg AFC U19 kept their pre-season record perfect on Sunday, coming from behind to beat TS Galaxy U19 3–2 in a match that had supporters on the edge of their seats right until the final whistle.

Randburg made a bright start, taking the lead from the penalty spot after a foul in the box. The kick was dispatched with real confidence, and Randburg wasted little time in adding a second, this time through a beautifully struck free kick that gave the home side plenty to think about at the break.

Galaxy came roaring back in the second half, pressing high and making life uncomfortable for Randburg. Their energy was rewarded almost immediately with a tidy team goal that gave them a foothold in the game.

From there, Galaxy grew in belief, and Pabalelo Mpholo eventually levelled things up late on, making it 2–2 and leaving everything to play for. Just when it seemed the points would be shared, Randburg found a way through one final time to clinch the hard-fought 3–2 win.

Randburg coach Arthur Brooks was in good spirits afterwards. He was particularly pleased with how his side played in the opening stages, praising the neat passing and clever movement that led to the two goals.

He admitted the squad lost their way a little through the middle portion of the game as he gave everyone some playing time, but felt his players responded well when it mattered most. “They listened and ultimately pulled it through.”

TS Galaxy U19 coach Johannes Chipunza was honest about the result, but proud of his young team’s effort. With the squad only about a month old, he feels the foundations are being laid nicely. He has big dreams for the season ahead too, with promotion firmly in his sights. “I’m sure we’re going to play in the big leagues.”

A promising sign of things to come for both sides.
