Students comment on the use of the ChatGPT

Although ChatGPT has made it easier for people to complete tasks and conduct research, some people do not rely on the app to do their work.

Randburg Sun took to the streets to ask students if they’ve heard about ChatGPT before and how they feel about it.

Here is what they had to say:

Anthony Malepe
Anthony Malepe: It does help us as students with information seeking, however, when coming to assignments it spoils many students. You can write an assignment using it and pass with a distinction but not knowing anything about the assignment you wrote. But if you are doing research it can help you a big time.
Steven Baloyi
Steven Baloyi: I don’t know about the app and I will never use it at all, reason being that you as a person won’t have a knowledge of studying on your own. Students should do more research in order to boost their skills and not depend on one app.
Ntoile Mathipa
Ntoile Mathipa: With ChatGPT you can find anything that you’re looking for within a minute. However, if you use it and submit the information as it is without reading it and doing research about the info it provided, you will never gain any knowledge from it. We are dealing with a lot as students so it makes things easy for us.
Rapudi Monono:
Rapudi Monono: I think it is pretty cool because it helps to lessen the burden of struggling to understand some questions and assignments. I normally use it when I don’t understand some school tasks and it assists me. ChatGPT is understandable and easy to use.
Lesego Matlou:
Lesego Matlou: Yes, I have heard of ChatGPT is a useful app that helps students with answering any questions, correcting mistakes, and rejecting spelling-appropriate requests. However, you can be caught that you copied someone’s work.
