Honeydew CPF extends heartfelt Christmas gratitude
Honeydew CPF reflects on a year of challenges and triumphs, urging residents to celebrate the festive season with gratitude, compassion, and togetherness.
As the festive season approaches, Michael Steyn, public relations officer for the Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF), shared a touching message of gratitude and unity with the community. Addressed to SAPS officers, security companies, CPF volunteers, EMS teams, and the residents of Honeydew, Steyn’s message highlights the dedication and commitment that have made this year one of resilience and togetherness.
Reflecting on 2024, Steyn acknowledged the challenges faced by the community but celebrated the determination and hard work of those who serve and protect it.

To the SAPS officers, security teams, and EMS personnel, Steyn expressed heartfelt appreciation for their tireless efforts. “Your unwavering presence and dedication to the safety and well-being of Honeydew are vital to the peace we enjoy,” he wrote.
Steyn commended their professionalism, even in difficult circumstances, and thanked them for their behind-the-scenes contributions to keeping the community safe and secure.
Steyn also praised the selflessness of CPF volunteers, who dedicate their time and energy to patrol the streets, attend meetings, and support initiatives that benefit the community. He described them as: “The heartbeat of this community,” whose impact is felt in every corner of Honeydew.

As the holiday season draws near, Steyn reminded the community of the importance of kindness, unity, and looking out for one another. He encouraged residents to reflect on their blessings, support their neighbours, and show compassion, especially to those less fortunate.
For those working during the holidays, whether on duty, patrolling, or responding to emergencies, Steyn offered a special message of thanks. “Your commitment ensures that we can all enjoy the holidays with peace of mind. You are the unsung heroes who make the season safe for all of us.”
Steyn concluded by wishing the entire community a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. He urged everyone to rest, recharge, and cherish time with loved ones, while continuing to work together to make Honeydew a safe and thriving place.
