While details around the cause of the accident are still to be investigated, a parent, Neo Nkhumane, revealed that the driver blamed brake failure.

Nkumane said, while her son was okay, she was distressed when she received the phone call informing her of the accident.

“I was very scared. My first thought was: ‘Is he okay? Is he injured?’. I was very, very scared, but I’m glad to see that there are no physical injuries. I must just confirm that, internally, everything is fine,” said Nkhumane.
