The children enjoyed three hours of unlimited rides, face painting, popcorn, and soda — all courtesy of the event organisers. Roman’s Pizza generously sponsored 100 pizzas for lunch, adding to the festive cheer.

Support came from all corners of the community. The Linden Community Policing Forum (CPF) and local SAPS officers helped ensure the children’s safety, while young volunteers from the local community stepped in to assist with care and coordination throughout the day.

Sharing her thoughts on the initiative, Kameya Chinsamy, marketing manager at Ferndale on Republic, said that they believe the centre should be more than just a shopping destination. “It should be a place that uplifts and connects the community. Hosting these little ones for a day of fun is just one way we can give back to the families who support us. Seeing their smiles made it all worthwhile.”

The event created lasting memories for the children and highlighted the incredible impact of local collaboration and generosity.
