Police investigate armed robbery at Randridge Mall
Police and security responded swiftly after armed robbers targeted the Ackermans store in Randridge Mall on Friday afternoon, stealing cash and several cellphones.
An armed robbery took place at the Ackermans store in Randridge Mall on Friday afternoon November 7, prompting a swift response from security and law enforcement.
The incident occurred around 16:58 at the shopping centre located on the corner of Kayburne Avenue and John Vorster Road in Randpark Ridge. According to the Gauteng Provincial Joint Operations Centre (JOC), the area was immediately secured, and certain parts of the mall were temporarily blocked off as police investigated the scene.

Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) Public Relations Officer, Michael Steyn, confirmed that an undisclosed amount of money and several cellphones were stolen during the robbery.
“Security and law enforcement are on scene,” said Steyn. “We urge the public to avoid the affected areas while investigations continue.”

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any arrests have been made. The Gauteng Police Board, through its Safer City initiative, has encouraged residents to share verified information only and to report any related incidents directly to their official WhatsApp line at 072 069 8582.
Police are expected to release further details once investigations progress.
