Local preschool joins forces with other stakeholders for a clean-up event
Petts Preschool partnered with the community to instil environmental responsibility in Bloubosrand children by cleaning up Nautilus Park.
A community clean-up event at Nautilus Park was successfully hosted by Petts Preschool Independent Christian Academy, in collaboration with the Bloubosrand Residents Association, Black Ops Security, and United Dream Rivers Services NPC (UDRS).
The initiative aimed to instil good principles of environmental care and responsible behaviour in young children, while strengthening community ties.

The event brought preschool learners together to participate in litter-picking activities, teaching them the importance of caring for shared spaces and respecting the environment.
Before the children began, Black Ops Security conducted a safety sweep of the park, removing illegal substances and hazardous objects to ensure the young participants were protected from harmful exposure.

“This was more than a clean-up; it was a living classroom,” said a Petts Preschool representative. “Our children learned that dignity, responsibility, and teamwork are values that extend beyond the classroom walls.”

The stakeholders reinforced these lessons by providing educational talks and demonstrations, highlighting how small actions, like picking up litter, contribute to a healthier, safer community.
The Bloubosrand Residents Association mobilised local families, ensuring strong community participation and emphasising collective responsibility for public spaces.
