The Randridge Residents’ Association (RRA) will be hosting its annual Carols by Candlelight concert at Kiewet Park in Randpark Ridge on November 29.

The event is open to all members of the public, who are welcome to bring along their picnic blankets and voices to herald the beginning of the festive season.

The evening is held in support of various charities. The attendees are requested to bring along a donation of dry or tinned food, clothes and shoes, toiletries, toys, stationery and any household items that are still in good condition.

Vocalist and musician Cito Otto, lead singer of the band Wonderboom, will be the guest performer, joined by the Awakening’s Ashton Nyte.

Quinn Lubbe, chairperson of the RRA, explained that RRA events are always focused on bringing people together and fostering a spirit of community. “The RRA Carols by Candlelight is a perfect example of that, as not only does it bring the community together. It is also in support of a good cause, spreading some Christmas cheer to those who are not as fortunate over the festive season.”

He added that this year they have two guest artists who will be performing both solo pieces and duets. “We’ll also have a very special visitor for the kids who will be attending,” said Lubbe. “Both Cito Otto and Ashton Nyte are well-known South African legends in the music industry, and together they promise to capture the spirit of Christmas as they lead the singing at this year’s RRA Carols. This will also be an event to bring together families, communities and neighbours as we ring in the festive season together.”
