Meat World hands over brand-new cars to final competition winners in Gauteng and North West

Five lucky shoppers drove away today in new vehicles after Meat World concluded its nationwide giveaway campaign.

Meat World has announced its final five winners in its Meat Your New Wheels car competition, bringing the total number of lucky winners to 20.

Every day, customers who entered the competition were encouraged to tune in to Jacaranda FM from 06:00 to 17:00 to find out if they had won a Suzuki Swift 1.2 GL.

The final five winners were from Meat World branches in Alberton, Krugersdorp, Rustenburg, Thembisa and Verwoerdpark, and visited their respective branches on October 17 to collect their vehicles.

Jackal Creek store manager Leandro Leitao highlighted that the family butcher used the campaign to give back to the community, noting that the store gave out R10 000 monthly in the previous year’s campaign.

He said it was rewarding to observe the increased customer engagement and excitement in the store throughout the competition. “This was just so much fun, watching customers engage and tell us they are coming to fetch their car,” Leitao said. “There are so many scams going on out there, so having the car here and watching their engagement and excitement was great.”

Honeydew resident Joshen Indarjee was the first announced winner in the competition after spending more than R500 on more than three separate occasions. He said he initially thought the notification was a prank. “I actually thought it was a spam call and someone was trying to sell me something,” Indarjee said.

“I have so many friends who like pranking me, but once I heard the lady from Jacaranda ask if I joined the competition, it made sense. You know people rarely ever win these competitions, but I guess you can say I am God’s favourite.”

Indarjee added that he needed a fuel-efficient car due to the state of the economy, saying the vehicle came at the perfect time.

Leitao concluded by thanking all customers for their support and expressed appreciation for the community built over the years, adding that more competitions will follow.
