Firefighters contain blaze at Ferndale office park
A blaze at an office park on the corner of West Avenue and Oxford Roads in Ferndale was contained by EMS firefighters, with no injuries reported.
Emergency Management Services (EMS) firefighters responded to a fire that broke out on the evening of November 12 at an office park situated on the corner of West Avenue and Oxford Road in Ferndale, Randburg.
According to EMS spokesperson Xolile Khumalo, the call was received at around 17:30, and fire crews were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters found parts of the building’s roof had already collapsed as flames spread through the structure.

The fire has since been completely extinguished, and EMS teams remain on site conducting dampening down operations to prevent any possible re-ignition.

“No injuries have been reported at this stage,” Khumalo confirmed.
The blaze caused significant structural damage to the building, but quick action by EMS crews ensured that the fire did not spread to nearby properties.
Fire inspectors are expected to begin investigations into the cause of the blaze once all firefighting and safety operations have been completed.
