Faith and hope drive Bromhof author’s new book
Award-winning Bromhof author Nthabiseng Sethoga has released her second book, a faith-based devotional inspired by personal hardship and a message of hope and resilience.
Bromhof resident Nthabiseng Sethoga has released and officially launched her second book, Ontekane Modimo – God Is More Than Enough, a faith-based devotional encouraging readers to persevere through life’s challenges.
Born and raised in Alexandra, Sethoga was brought up by a single mother and her late grandparents. She said her life’s calling is to bring hope and comfort to people who feel weary and discouraged. Over the years, she has taken on many roles, including wife, mother, speaker, mentor, listed counsellor, certified life coach and preacher.

Sethoga is also the founder of Chosen Wives, a support group for married women established in 2014.
Her work in mentoring, community building and social development has earned her several accolades, including the South Africa Women Imbokodo Award, recognition as a Mrs SA semi-finalist in 2024, a Supreme Queen World finalist in 2024, and a top-three placement at the Woman of Stature Awards for mentoring and life coaching.
She was also named one of TPM’s Most Influential Women in 2022 and received the Ema Mosadi Honorary Award for Community Building in 2025.
Her passion for writing began at school, where she developed the habit of journaling. “The books I write are birthed from my journals,” she said.
Her first book, My Anchor, received multiple honours, including the AfriCan Honoree Author’s Award and the Women of Worth Award in 2023, as well as the TPM and August Press Author’s Award in 2025. She was also nominated for the African Christian Authors Awards, held in Kenya.
The inspiration for her second book came during a difficult period in 2023, when she spent more than 20 days in the hospital. During that time, her mother encouraged her not to lose hope and encouraged her to write a second book, which she titled Ontekane Modimo. “This book is about reminding people not to give up and not to be defined by their circumstances,” Sethoga said.
Written as a daily devotional, the book features 31 short ‘activations’ designed to fit into busy lives. It addresses real struggles such as fear, rejection, stress, low self-esteem and procrastination, encouraging readers to face their personal ‘Goliaths’ with faith and hope.
Feedback from readers has been positive, with many describing the book as encouraging and uplifting. Sethoga hopes it will revive hope, strengthen faith and bring direction to individuals, families and communities.
