Soulbent Project renews fight against dumping

The Soulbent Project has doubled down on its Honeydew clean-up campaign, with a second visit to the same site underlining the organisation's determination to restore dignity to the community.

The Soulbent Project returned to Honeydew on March 27, for a second clean-up campaign at the same site, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to tackling waste and illegal dumping in the area.

Volunteers once again gathered to clear rubbish, remove debris, and help restore the appearance of a site that has become a focal point in the organisation’s fight against environmental neglect in Johannesburg.

Soulbent Project CEO Mashudu Makhado praised the volunteers who continue to show up. “I want to sincerely thank our dedicated volunteers who continue to serve with passion and resilience. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. Your hard work is transforming communities and inspiring change.”

Makhado said the clean-up goes beyond simply removing waste. “The Honeydew clean-up is more than just removing waste; it is about restoring dignity, promoting environmental responsibility, and standing together against illegal dumping and pollution.”

The CEO used the occasion to call on community members, local businesses, and government stakeholders to get behind the organisation’s work. “Real change happens when we work together.”

The Soulbent Project NPO says it will continue carrying out clean-up drives across different areas, urging residents to take pride in their surroundings and play an active role in protecting the environment.
