Will ‘Anytime Goalscorer’ Henson, in Grade 12, put pen to paper and wasted no time making an impression. He made his debut on March 14 in a commanding 5-0 victory over Siwelele, his former club, giving the occasion an added layer of significance.

The signing caps a remarkable rise for the 17-year-old. During the 2025 season, Will finished as the top goal scorer in the U17 GDL, netting 34 goals. His clinical finishing and attacking instincts caught the eye at the 2025 Nedbank Cup tournament, where he walked away with the awards for Top Striker and Top Attacking Player while representing Saints.

His performances earned him the ultimate recognition at the youth level when he was called up to the South African U17 national team for the FIFA World Cup later that year.

The DStv Diski Challenge serves as the development pathway for players aiming to break into Orlando Pirates’ first team setup, meaning Henson’s journey is only just beginning.

At just 17, the goal scorer has already demonstrated the consistency and composure that professional clubs look for. If his early trajectory is anything to go by, Randburg may well be watching one of its own grace the top flight of South African football sooner than expected.
