Soulbent volunteers tidy up Honeydew streets

Community pride took centre stage in Honeydew this week as Soulbent Project volunteers gathered for another hands-on neighbourhood clean-up campaign.

Volunteers from the Soulbent Project took to the streets of Zandspruit in Honeydew, carrying out another successful clean-up campaign aimed at improving the local environment and restoring community pride.

The team worked together to collect litter, clear illegal dumping sites, and tidy public spaces across the area, continuing a pattern of hands-on community action that has become a hallmark of the organisation.

Soulbent Project chief executive officer Mashudu Makhado said the campaign carried a message that went beyond waste removal.

“Honeydew will never be the same again. Our volunteers showed great commitment and teamwork while cleaning the area and removing waste. We are proud to see communities coming together to protect the environment and create a better future.”

Makhado thanked everyone who supported the initiative, including volunteers, partners, and stakeholders.

Organisers say the campaign is about more than collecting rubbish. Cleaner streets and safer public spaces, they argue, help rebuild a sense of ownership and belonging among residents.
