Johannesburg Water confirms reinstatement at Randburg Sports Complex
Johannesburg Water has reinstated and restored the affected area left after a pipe burst was repaired, blaming delays on the weather.
Johannesburg Water (JW) has confirmed that they have attended to the reinstatement that was left after a burst inside the tennis courts at the Randburg Sports Complex.
Although the pipe burst was been attended to, JW left a gaping hole, and yet another reinstatement issue worrying Ward 102 councillor Bea Campbell-Cloete.
Known for leaving reinstatements for months, even years, JW has now confirmed that they have filled the hole, and fully restored the affected area.
Entity spokesperson Nombuso Shabalala explained that the reinstatement process was delayed due to recent rainfall, which left the soil excessively wet and unsuitable for proper reinstatement.

“The team had to wait for the soil conditions to improve to ensure that the reinstatement work could be completed safely and to the required standard. Johannesburg Water’s standard procedure is for reinstatement work to be completed within four days after repairs have been finalised, subject to site and weather conditions.
“The burst was caused by tree roots that infiltrated and damaged the pipeline infrastructure. As the permanent reinstatement has already been completed, no temporary measures are currently required.
The affected area has been restored to its original condition following the completion of the reinstatement work.
