Mother’s Day magic blooms at Garden Village

The ladies of Garden Village marked Mother's Day in elegant fashion, gathering for a high tea event filled with pampering, music, and warm celebration.

The ladies of Methodist Homes for the Aged, Garden Village were made to feel truly special recently when the facility hosted a high tea themed Mother’s Day celebration, organised by Nolo Mafatlha and Garden Village manager Lauren Rheeder.

Residents arrived dressed in their finest outfits, embracing the elegance of the occasion as they settled in for an afternoon of tea, delicious treats, and refreshing mimosas in a warm and festive atmosphere.
Rheeder said the day was designed with one clear purpose in mind.

“We wanted every lady to feel special, celebrated, and appreciated. It was important to us that the day reflected the love and dignity that each of our residents deserves.”

The pampering did not stop at refreshments. Beauty brand Sorbet generously treated residents to relaxing hand massages, manicures, and pedicures, with many ladies leaving the session with wide smiles and freshly painted nails.

For those who wanted to channel their creativity, an art station gave residents the chance to paint and express themselves, while chatting and laughing with friends.

Rheeder said the response to the station was particularly heartwarming.

“It was wonderful to watch the ladies sitting together, creating, and socialising. That kind of connection is exactly what we hope to foster.”

“The music really lifted the room. Seeing our residents so full of energy and joy was the best possible outcome for a day like this.”

Reflecting on the success of the event, Rheeder said Garden Village remains committed to creating meaningful experiences for its community. “Joy, beauty, friendship, and celebration have no age limit.

We pride ourselves on making sure that every occasion here is filled with love, happiness, and real memories.”
