Water woes continue in Bromhof and surrounding areas
Johannesburg Water is currently on the ground working hard to improve and stabilise the water supply in Bromhof.
Johannesburg Water (JW) has confirmed that its technical teams are on site in Bromhof, flushing the system to clear airlocks.
Ward councillor Devon Steenkamp explained that for the past two months, residents in Randpark Ridge, Boskruin, and Bromhof have been complaining about intermittent water supply, particularly during peak hours. The matter was escalated to JW.

“JW kept saying they’re investigating, and there have been hardly any confirmations that it’s been resolved.
However, over the past week, things have worsened, and the entity said they have been finding many valves that have been closed, while in other areas valves that are supposed to be closed have been opened.
So, it seems like the depots had some teams setting out, and they didn’t communicate what valves they closed and what valves they opened, and no one’s owning up to that at the depot level.”
The team is also working to boost supply to the Bromhof area via Tin Avenue to improve and stabilise the system.

JW spokesperson Nombuso Shabalala explained that a contractor may be required for this intervention:
“A process has begun to engage contractors, however, the timeline cannot be committed at this stage.”
