The talented defender was given a hero’s welcome as young players, coaches, and parents gathered to celebrate one of their own who had reached football’s biggest stage. Okon spent several seasons developing his game in the Gauteng development league at Randburg FC, before earning a move to SuperSport United. That was a stepping stone that led him to German club, Hannover 96.

During his visit he took time to sign autographs, pose for countless photographs, and chat with every aspiring footballer who wanted a moment with their role model.
