The celebration drew an impressive turnout, with children arriving in large numbers to take part in the day’s activities. Elderly members of the community also attended, making the event a true celebration of togetherness across generations.

Volunteers served delicious soup with bread, as well as fresh fruit, making sure that every child enjoyed a meal.

Pretty Ndlovu, an NCTV chief executive officer, explained that more than 400 children were fed during the event, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to caring for vulnerable members of the community.

The event carried the spirit of Nelson Mandela’s legacy by promoting compassion, service, and community upliftment.

Ndlovu added that the event was a success because it brought smiles to the children’s faces. “It also strengthened the spirit of hope and solidarity within the Itsoseng community, reminding everyone that even small acts of kindness can make a lasting difference.”
