Ward councillor and residents team up to clean up Bram Fischer Drive

Ward 102 councillor Bea Campbell-Cloete and volunteers gave the medians of Bram Fischer Drive a much-needed revamp as part of their beautification project.

Ward 102 councillor Bea Campbell-Cloete joined residents for a community beautification project aimed at bringing back pride and bringing back the beauty to the medians in Bram Fischer Drive.

Campbell-Cloete and volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got involved in cleaning up the area. The initiative included removing litter, tidying the surroundings and giving pot plants a fresh coat of paint, adding colour and vibrancy to the busy thoroughfare.

She said that while driving on the road, she noticed that the pot plants needed a fresh new look.

“I drive here every day, and the paint on these pot plants was peeling off, and the area was overgrown. I decided that it is time we did something before the rainy season begins.”

The project was driven by a shared commitment to creating a cleaner, more attractive environment for residents, businesses and visitors.

“We needed to do something and add a little bit of colour around. I got volunteers, and Universal Paints in Linden came on board to donate paint and brushes. This shows that when people come together, things happen.”

The freshly painted pot plants and cleaned-up spaces are intended to create a more appealing and welcoming atmosphere while encouraging others to help keep the area neat.
