It’s all smiles as Grade 1 learners start at Curro Aurora

Not a tear is shed as families give their goodbyes with big group hugs outside the Grade 1 classroom.

Families had big group hugs and gave well wishes before their youngsters started their first day of ‘big school’ at Curro Aurora.

New friends were made immediately, a happy atmosphere prevailed and not a single tear was shed when the Grade 1s started on January 11.

In the 1AS class, a few toy blocks were left out and Damian Geldenhuys and Krishna Naidoo wasted no time building new robots together.

When asked if they were sisters, they said they were ‘cousins as well as sisters’ because of how close they were.

They ran hand-in-hand around the room to point out the pictures on the wall to each other.

Teacher Antonia Stephen said she was excited about the new year and appreciated the enthusiasm the youngsters showed.
