From caped superheroes to inspiring educators, the costumes reflected the learners’ admiration for those who make a difference in the world every day.
To dress up, each learner donated a canned food item to support those facing hunger in the community.
The initiative not only encouraged school spirit and fun; it reminded learners of the importance of compassion, kindness, and giving back to others in need.

The collected canned food items will be donated to Africa Food for Thought, an organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities and helping fight hunger.
The event was a wonderful reminder that even small acts of generosity can make a big difference in the lives of others.

Natasha Vermaak, a teacher who leads the community outreach programme, explained that they are not only celebrating World Hunger Day; they’re bringing relief to people who are food-insecure. She said that she is overwhelmed by the amount of food that came in.
“The kids really are about reaching out beyond themselves to help other people.
We have got hundreds of cans to donate to Africa Food for Thought to make a difference in local communities, to provide food needed, especially during winter.”
