Hyde Park runners shine

HYDE PARK –Athletes shine during the Hyde Park athletics meeting.

Hyde Park High School hosted an athletics meeting against La Salle College High School in Roodepoort and King David Linksfield.

The meeting on 16 August was a great success where athletes had a safe and fun way to display their talents and team ethos.

The meeting was charged with enthusiastic supporters who yelled encouragement as the neck-and-neck races made for great entertainment.

The schools were well balanced in terms of runners with Hyde Park winning the distance sections while King David pipped Hyde Park in the sprints.

Overall results lay with King David Linksfield winning by a fine margin and La Salle placing third. The staff and pupils thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon showing incredible sportsmanship – unequalled to any other event thus far.

Kim Barow, the school’s athletics coach, commended every athlete who participated as their scores all added up to a sterling end result.
