The U16 team played against Curro Krugersdorp in the semi-final and won convincingly, setting up a final against Waterstone College. In a tight-fought encounter, they won the final 29–26 to secure the trophy.
Curro Aurora’s head of sport Adrian Ferreira said, “We are so proud of the achievements of our U14 and 16 teams. They played attractive rugby on the day, and the positive results that have come out of this bode well for the future of sevens rugby at Curro Aurora.”
Sevens rugby at school level has become very popular in South Africa and its structure allows a larger number of teams from smaller schools to compete in fast-paced competitive rugby.
The Warriors 7s Rugby League has matches that are played on a weekly basis.
