Riversands Commercial Park is abuzz this morning, 18 November, as about 28 000 cyclists gather to challenge themselves in the 22nd edition of the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge.

The elite group started to push pedals from 5.30am and are en-route.

Just after 6am, the Elite Ladies Race began.

Executive Mayor of the City of Joburg, Herman Mashaba also braved the early start to deliver a message to the cyclists.

The route is a reversal of last year’s one and there are a number of roads that will be closed around Joburg. For the full details, click here
