Randburg Tennis Club players excel at Junior Nationals
BLAIRGOWRIE – Local aces serve up a show at the junior and senior tennis nationals.
Advantage Tennis is celebrating the success of several of its players at two national tournaments.
The tennis academy based at Randburg Tennis Club in Blairgowrie, was proud to see coach Gareth Gibson win the 45s age group in the Senior Nationals tournament.
Not only this, but club member Brendan Zackey was runner-up to Gibson, and Peter Hahn was runner-up in the 50s age group.

Not to be outdone by their seniors, the academy’s youngsters shone bright in the Junior Nationals.
Sarah Millard (U18) and Runé van Wyk (U14) reached their respective finals in the singles.
“I am very proud of how everyone did, especially the juniors,” Gibson told Randburg Sun.
“Nationals is the biggest tournament of the year. The older guys – myself, Brendan and Peter – are working towards the young seniors world championships although they may not be feasible with travel during Covid.

“I’m hoping Sarah and Runé get selected for the African Junior Championships. They are working hard towards the next series of Tennis South Africa tournaments coming up shortly.”
Currently, the players are competing in the Gauteng Central Combined League.
