17-year-old Chloe Stuart is one of the rising stars in South African karting as she finishes third in the Formula-K Kart Circuit in Benoni.

Unforgettable, hard-earned, and competitive are three words Chloe Stuart used to describe her championship finish at the Formula-K Kart Circuit in Benoni.

The 17-year-old race girl proved exactly why she is one of the rising stars in South African karting. Competing in the senior class of the Motor Sport of South Africa (MSA) FKR Shifter Series, Stuart delivered a brilliant performance, securing an impressive third place. First place went to Tristan Pelser, and second was awarded to Ricardo Tebbutt.

Chloe handled her high–performance FKR Shifter 125cc kart with confidence. She explained that the season has been incredibly competitive, which made every race memorable. “My result feels hard-earned because it came through determination, perseverance, and countless hours of effort. It wasn’t luck that got me to where I finished; it was the result of consistent hard work throughout the season.”

As she crossed the finish, she said she was grateful to have the opportunity to race. “In that moment, I felt incredibly proud of myself for everything I’d worked towards. It was such a rewarding feeling. Countless hours of practice definitely helped me throughout the season. They kept me focused on constantly improving and pushing myself every time I got behind the wheel.”

Despite producing big performances and making the podium, the talented racer faced some challenges on the track. She said the middle section, from the hairpin into a sharp left and then a sharp right, gave her a challenge, and it was technically demanding. “I genuinely enjoy every part of the track because getting those difficult sections right is one of the most rewarding feelings.”

To get ready for big events, Chloe trains physically four to five days a week. She also works with a sports psychologist, who helps her develop mental focus, as well as spending time doing her own mental preparation, including reaction training and making sure she is in the right mindset before every race. “Practice really does make perfect, but patience is just as important. I’ve learned when to make a move and when to wait for the right opportunity. Learning the correct racing lines, braking points, and building confidence in both me and my kart are all things I’ll continue taking into the new season.”

Stuart began racing at the age of seven. Because of that passion, determination, and love for the sport, she worked hard, started winning races, and even beat the boys from a young age. Those results proved that she was capable and could achieve her dreams.

In the next month, she is hoping to move into a new racing category and take the next step in her career. “I also want to fight for the top step of the podium in my championships and continue working towards achieving my long-term goals and dreams.”
