Bongeziwe Mabandla and BANDA at Amuse Café – Saturday 9 November

Bongeziwe Mabandla brings his own style to an audience that perhaps have never heard anything like it. Like sonic ancestors Busi Mhlongo, Vusi Mahlasela or Tracy Chapman, his message pivots on a search for hope, inspiration and affirmation to keep the emotional abyss at bay.

BANDA is a five-piece eclectic band from Jozi, combining various music styles when creating their music: African, jazz, alternative rock, pop, and even trip-hop to come up with a unique fusion style, which they refer to as “chilled hardcore”.

For an experience that will change your perspective on local music and something that perhaps falls out of your usual comfort zone pull in to Amuse Café this weekend.
