Shades of India Festival to empower small and medium enterprises
Local traders and musicians to showcase their talent
The Shades of India Festival will be held at Montecasino on 28-30 November, 10 am to 10 pm.
Shades of India Festival seeks to celebrate Indian culture, cuisine, fashion and entertainment.
Traditional music, food, dance, fashion, trade, arts and culture will be some of the highlights of the event.
TGS events are the organisers who aim to empower small and medium enterprises available locally.
Local musicians,crafters and comedians such as Karmen Naidoo and Zakkiya Khan will be given a platform to showcase their talent to the public during the festival says Shalandra Mallgee from TGS events.
It promises to be an annual event giving more people a chance to become part of the festival.About 100 stalls and exhibitions will be on display.
Little tastes of India will be spread across Montecasino, with little spots for henna application and to give people a feel of the festival.
Entertainment for kids will provided, kids can enjoy face painting, clown shows,soccer and more .
Prizes will be given away during the duration of the festival. Some of the prizes are a dream kitchen worth R120 000 ,six designer watches that can be won at the Peru and Bala comedy show on 27 November,R10 000 in a lucky draw on 28 November, a getaway to India for two and many more.
“Passionate,driven and dedicated TGS events aims to ensure that South Africa receives a well organised showcase of Indian culture,” expresses Mallgee.
