‘We all want to be buddies, not bullies’
SUNDOWNER – Curro battles the bullies.
Curro Aurora Independent School is encouraging its children to be buddies rather than bullies.
The school has zero tolerance for bullying and for the last four weeks has been running a campaign against bullying.
Principal Christiaan Maree said the school takes bullying very seriously because it is a reality and happens at every school at a local and international level.
“We want to equip our children with the tools to deal with bullying.
“There are three steps to take when dealing with bullying which include telling the person who is bullying you to stop it, to walk away and then report it to an adult immediately.”
Each class made a pledge and promised to be buddies and not bullies.
The children also made posters with their handprints as well as sang an anti-bullying song called Lean on Me by Bruno Mars.
