Must do monthly vehicle checks

We have listed some of the monthly checks a vehicle owner should do to ensure the best possible condition.

Truth be told, owning a vehicle comes with a huge responsibility and to ensure that your car runs perfectly fine, one needs to do monthly checks to prolong the vehicle’s life.

We have listed some of the monthly checks a vehicle owner should do to ensure the best possible condition.

  • Correct tyre pressure

This is often overlooked but will save you lots of money. Having the correct tyre pressure will ensure a smooth driving experience, wear out tyres evenly and save you some fuel.

  • Oil level

Make sure that your engine oil level is where it is supposed to. It is recommended to check your oil level on a monthly basis to avoid damaging the engine.

This does not have to waste too much of your time. It is very easy to do.

  • Check your brake fluid level

As its name suggests, brake fluid ensures that the brakes work 100% to help you stop. You can check the brake fluid level when you check the oil level.

  • Check your battery

Inspect the battery and its components such as loose wires and corrosion. To get the battery checked, you can pop into any battery outlet.. Some outlets are able to do that free of charge.

  • Coolant level

Easy as ABC. You can check your coolant level by just looking at the reservoir and see if it is up to the ‘FULL’ mark. Refiling the coolant is easy and that can be done by adding a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water.
