Blairgowrie racer Megan Archer is ready for 2026

After a challenging but successful year, Blairgowrie racer Megan Archer and Car 77 Team Boo are ready for the new season.

The 2025 racing season tested the resilience, determination, and grit of the competitors, and few embodied those qualities better than Blairgowrie-based racer Megan Archer of Car 77 Team Boo.

Despite a year filled with challenges, Archer delivered a standout performance on the Formula Libre Gauteng circuit. Refusing to be sidelined by adversity, she claimed first place in Class E and secured second place in the Women’s Formula Libre Gauteng Championship.

She finished seventh on the Index Formula Monoposto, sixth overall in Formula Monoposto, and eighth on the Index Formula Libra standings.

She explained that it was a season that showcased not only consistency and pace, but character. One of the most talked-about moments came with a dramatic spin into the sand trap, an incident that earned Archer the light-hearted but memorable Farmer of the Year award.

True to form, she recovered swiftly, rejoined the race, and continued competing, reinforcing her reputation as a driver who never gives up.

With the page now turning to 2026, excitement is building. The new season will kick off at Red Star Raceway in Delmas, and Archer arrives better prepared than ever.

“During the off-season, significant upgrades were made to the engine, alongside the addition of front and rear wings to improve downforce enhancements aimed squarely at pushing performance to the next level.”
